Redesign and modernization of a public institution information system
For over 5 years, long-term partnership focused on the modernization, security, and maintenance of a portfolio of business applications for various departments (legal, HR, technical). Work included custom development, CI/CD pipeline implementation, and security hardening.
Presentation :
As a DevOps engineer, I have been supporting a public institution for more than five years in the redesign and evolution of its information system. This long-term collaboration covers the design, maintenance, and security of a strategic application portfolio, in direct cooperation with internal departments (legal, HR, technical, communication). The objective: to provide a reliable, scalable, and regulation-compliant platform while ensuring the skills growth of internal teams.

Technical environment
Core technologies: PHP/Symfony, Vue.js, Docker, GitLab CI
Infrastructure & systems: Linux, Active Directory
Context: heterogeneous application portfolio, strong regulatory requirements, autonomous operation, long-term project (5 years)
Additional deliverables: supply and integration of IT equipment tailored to organizational needs

Challenge :
Custom application development and maintenance: contracts management, decrees, internal elections, AD integration, GDPR consent, annual review processes.
Industrialization & reliability: full migration of the application portfolio to Docker, replacement of Jenkins with GitLab CI, design of a turnkey generic pipeline (available on my GitHub).
Security & compliance: CVE remediation, post-audit compliance, adherence to public sector regulatory requirements.
Coaching, training & knowledge transfer: mentoring junior developers, training internal teams and end-users, documentation.
Equipment supply & integration: deployment of hardware and software solutions adapted to the institution’s evolving needs.
Summary :
This long-term engagement has built a trust-based and sustainable relationship with the institution. The work delivered ensured the technological modernization, security, and DevOps industrialization of its IT landscape, while strengthening the capabilities of its internal teams. More than operational maintenance, this partnership provided durable, scalable solutions aligned with both regulatory constraints and public sector business needs.
